Chhetri makes his second appearance for Sporting CP

India skipper Sunil Chhetri has made his second league appearance for Sporting Clube de Portugal ‘B’ in a Liga Orangina (Liga de Honra) match against Sporting Clube de Braga ‘B’ on Sunday.

João Mário (3rd), Esgaio (7th) and Rubio (45th) scored for SCP in the 3-2 win at the Estádio Municipal de Rio Maior, while Manoel (47th & 87th) scored a brace for Braga.

Sunil came on as a late second half substitute, when he came on to replace Rubio in the 85th minute.

The India star had no notable impact on the match in the remaining five minutes, but he gained once again valuable playing time after his league debut a few weeks ago [+ read more].

Sporting Clube de Portugal ‘B’ top the league table with 28 points out of 11 matches.

The next matchday will see the clash of the ‘B’ teams of the Lisbon titans, when Sporting take on Benfica ‘B’ in an away match.
