I-League new entrants and table toppers Bengaluru FC will play host to Shillong Lajong FC at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday at 15.00 IST. The match promises to be an exciting Round 12 encounter of the I-League 2013-14 season.

The Shillong outfit will take nothing less than a win against the I-League debutants and are coming into the match after displaying a rock solid performance against rivals Rangdajied United which was truly a pulsating encounter. But SLFC were left wanting for more, as they had to share the spoils with the local rivals.

Lajong will seek to carry their good form to the Garden City, having fared quite well so far this season and remain unbeaten in the past five matches of the I-League so far.

Shillong Lajong FC coach Thangboi Singto said: “It is a very important game to stay in the top half. BFC is a good team. We have to be at our best to beat them.”

“Preparation is good. Team morale is high and all the players will give their 100%,” he added.

Bengaluru FC will be quite upbeat about their form too, having thumped Derrick Pereira’s men 2-1 in the 11th Round which was also their first away win this season. In the last five games, Ashley Westwood’s side have won just once, drew twice and lost twice.

A huge test awaits for the Reds with huge expectations and prayers riding on their backs and it will surely make for an interesting and even contest at the Bangalore Football Stadium.
