It was a memorable day for Pune FC U-16s who emerged victorious in the FC Bayern Youth Cup 2014 after a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Bengaluru FC in the final at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.

Scoring a whopping 36 goals in 4 games en route to the final, Pune FC took a 2-0 lead in the first half through Aniket Jadhav’s brace. However, the opponents fought back and scored twice in the second half to equalise.

With scores tied, the final went into the tie-breaker called as the penalty powerplay in which the attacker gets the ball on the halfline and comes dribbling trying to beat the goalkeeper and score.

In the penalty powerplay, Pune FC had Aniket, Anil Madavi, Omkar More and Jagdish Gadewad score while stand-in keeper Jagdish saved Bengaluru FC’s first and fourth attempts.
