The India U-14 girls national team made merry against Bhutan in an emphatic 9-0 victory in the 2014 AFC Girls Regional Championship for South and Central Asia at the Baddegana Football Training Centre in Colombo on Monday.

Midfielder Sirjana Tamang notched up four goals (50th, 56th, 66nd and 69th) in the second half and Roja Devi (21st, 57th, 62nd) netted a hattrick either side of half-time to underline India’s dominance in what was an utterly lopsided encounter from the word go.

Lifa Gama (25th, 35th+1) with a first half brace and Daya Devi (31st) also got on the scoresheet for the inaugural champions.

The win takes India to nine points from four outings with the girls in blue remaining in the second position behind Nepal who are in pole position with twelve points.

India play Iran next on Tuesday.
