Pune FC has completed the signing of Liberian playmaker Eric Brown for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

The 24-year-old left-footed midfielder joins Pune FC after spending the previous season with Kolkata’s United SC and teams up with Ryuji Sueoka and Luciano Sabrosa as the third foreign signing of the season.

Pune FC Head Coach, Karim Bencherifa said: “Eric Brown is a player I have followed in last few seasons. With ONGC FC and United SC, he had a positive impact on the Club’s performance and we hope he will do even better with our Club. I do wish him the best of luck.”

Eric thus becomes the second Liberian player signed by Pune FC after Boimah Karpeh (2013). Overall he is the seventh African player to ply his trade for Pune FC in the I-League behind Douhou Pierre (2009-10, 2011-14), Chika Wali (2009-10, 2011-13), Lamine Tamba (2010-11), Mandjou Keita (2010-12), James Moga (2012-13) and Karpeh (2013).

Eric began his Indian sojourn? with former I-League side ONGC FC in the 2012-13 season. His seven goals in 20 appearances for the oilmen helped them to a respectable ninth-place finish in the table.

The following season, he moved to Kolkata to join United SC. His contribution to the squad was immense as he scored ten out of the team’s twenty two league goals in the entire season. Despite financial problems at the club, Eric’s effort helped them to a tenth-place finish in the I-League.

Currently in Goa, Eric has been training with the rest of the team for a week and will be raring to go.
