A 20-member strong Goa U-15 Girls State Team for the AIFF Sub-Junior National Football Championship left for Cuttack, Odisha yesterday. The team was seen off by Juliana Gurjao e Colaco, Chairwoman, Women’s Football Sub-Committee, Goa Football Association (GFA).
The team is coached by AFC B-License Coach Juliet Miranda and managed by Dakshata Shirodkar.
The tournament will see a total of 24 teams from across the country divided into eight groups. Goa are drawn with Haryana and Chhattisgarh. Goa play their first match on May 9 against Chhattisgarh and then play Haryana on May 13.
The team has been bolstered by the addition of three Indian junior internationals who represented the country in the AFC U-14 Girl’s Regional Championship in Nepal in April 2015.
