Seven days after the two teams faced off in Goa, Sporting Clube de Goa and Mohun Bagan AC will go at it hammer and tongs once again in the I-League at Barasat Stadium, Kolkata, on Saturday. The kick-off time is 16.30 IST and is being televised live on TEN Action.

Since that amazing game where the Flaming Oranje edged to a narrow 2-1 win, title aspirants Mohun Bagan returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Royal Wahingdoh FC, while Sporting Goa defeated Shillong Lajong FC 2-1 in mid-week.

Having not registered a single victory in their opening 13 matches, Sporting Goa have now managed a formidable turnaround, going on a seven match unbeaten run. They will look to continue that good form as they try to firmly cement their place in next season’s I-League with one round still to play.

Mohun Bagan on the other hand are currently top of the table, but are neck and neck on points with rivals Bengaluru and will look for victory to keep the pressure on, with the knowledge that they face current champions Bengaluru FC on the last day of the season.

Sporting Goa will look to their captain Odafe Okolie for continued inspiration. The Nigerian goal machine has come up with the winning goal in the last two matches against Mohun Bagan and Shillong Lajong and has picked up the Hero of the Match award in both games also.

Mohun Bagan sensation Sony Norde has been in dazzling form this season and will be hoping to provide the impetus his teams needs to move them closer towards the I-League crown.

Sporting Goa is currently in seventh place with 20 points from 18 games, while Mohun Bagan is on 35 points from the same number of matches.
