Indian national team holds pre-season camp in New Delhi

A squad of 23 Players have reported for a pre-season training camp for the Indian national team under head coach Stephen Constantine in the capital New Delhi.

Constantine informed that the “squad is made up of a combination of Academy and Club Players. Players from Bengaluru FC and East Bengal haven’t reported to the Camp.”

While BFC Players are preparing for their AFC Cup quarterfinal match, the East Bengal Club players are busy in their preparations for the forthcoming Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division ‘A’.

“The Camp will be hugely beneficial to the Players. We have been trying to expand the squad and give opportunities to new ones and make a bigger pool of Players. This is another perfect example that had we not done that, we wouldn’t have been able to assemble Players for the Camp,” he stated.

Constantine has handed International debuts to 28 Players in the last 15 matches that he has been in charge for India.

“I didn’t hand them debuts for the sake of doing it. I felt they were good enough and hence, got their chance,” Constantine reflected.
