The Spanish LaLiga is set to stage El Clásico extravaganzas in five cities across the globe in Mumbai, New Delhi, Shanghai, Beijing and Johannesburg, where supporters will get the chance to enjoy all of the action from one of the top club games in world football.

The Camp Nou on Saturday, December 3 is set to host FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures on the planet and Spanish football followers based in five cities throughout the world will be offered the opportunity to take in the blockbuster clash thanks to events being hosted by LaLiga in India (Mumbai and New Delhi), China (Shanghai and Beijing) and South Africa (Johannesburg).

These five international live viewings will see LaLiga’s endeavours in the fields of technology and internationalisation come to the fore, as giant screens, interactive activities and other attractions aimed at fans from all over the globe take centre stage. What’s more, supporters will be joined by LaLiga ambassadors in what is sure to be a thrilling experience.

In New Delhi, the surroundings of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will play host to a special #ElClasico fan zone, where a giant screen will beam the Sony broadcast of the best match in the world to more than 10,000 people. Live music, activities and an exhibition featuring an array of football shirts, not to mention the presence of former FC Barcelona star Luis Garcia, will be the icing on the cake of what promises to be a fan-tastic occasion. Meanwhile, the Khar Gymkhana will be the venue for the action in Mumbai. Over 5,000 guests will have the chance to enjoy fun and games, exhibitions and interacting with LaLiga ambassador Frederic Kanoute.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas said, “Our aim is to take La Liga all across the world, and further establish the league as one that is global and inclusive. We feel that the most important way to grow is to be closer to our fans, and provide tem with newer, more exciting experiences.”

“Both Real Madrid and Barcelona enjoy huge popularity in India and we feel that we owe the passionate fans of the league, a chance to experience such an event. This is a big step, and what we believe will be a great start to our journey in India,” Javier Tebas added.

In Beijing, the city’s Image Base Art Center will host the #ElClasico event, where coverage from PPTV – LaLiga’s official broadcaster in China – will be shown on giant screens. Meanwhile, supporters will be able to take part in interactive games and scoop some of the great prizes up for grabs in various competitions. LaLiga ambassador Fernando Morientes will be travelling to Shanghai to have a ball with the fans there before, during and after the match. Meanwhile, over in Shanghai, Gaizka Mendieta will be the ambassador on hosting duties in Water House. Prizes, body painting and a steady supply of other activities will be on offer to build up to the big game with a bang.

The #ElClasico hotspot in South Africa will be Johannesburg’s Nelson Mandela Square. The event will be hosted by Carol Tshabalala, a presenter for SuperSport, LaLiga’s official broadcaster in the Rainbow Nation. In addition to a big LaLiga-themed exhibition and a range of activities for all the family, the proceedings will be further livened up courtesy of a performance by famous South African rapper and producer Cassper Nyovest.
