Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian have signed striker Anthony Modeste from 1. FC Cologne (German: 1. FC Köln) for a reported transfer fee of €35.7 million.
The German club announced the transfer last night on its website: “After two years in the FC kit, Anthony Modeste transfers to the Chinese Super League.”
“Striker Anthony Modeste departs 1. FC Köln. The 29-year-old will continue his career in the Chinese Super League with Tianjin Quanjian. All relevant parties have reached an agreement.”
“1. FC Köln would like to thank Tony for his performances in the FC jersey whilst wishing him all the best for the future,” the club added.
The 29 year old Frenchman was instrumental in Cologne’s terrific finish in the 2016/17 Bundesliga season as he scored 25 goals last season to help the club back into Europe after 25 years.
Modeste joined Cologne from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2015.
