India drop to 62nd in latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings

Earlier in the day, the latest quarterly FIFA Women’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the fourth and final rankings of 2018, India dropped three spots to be in 62nd position behind Northern Ireland and ahead of Ecuador.

India have 1395 points, 14 less than last month but they gain a spot to be in 12nd position in the Asian (AFC) Women’s rankings.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Nepal (108th), Bangladesh (125th), and the Maldives (132th), with Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bhutan currently unranked.

There were changes in the top 5. The United States (2,123 pts) retain top spot ahead of Germany (2,057 pts); while France (2,046 pts) and England (2,021 pts) swapped their spots while Canada (2,014 pts) complete the top five.
