Building up to the AFC Grassroots Football Day on May 15, 2019, the All India Football Federation (AIFF)’s member associations have already started to organize festivals of football to help spread the game to every nook and corner of the nation.

So far, there have been six festivals of football conducted across the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Manipur with 384 members participating in footballing activities and getting involved in the ‘beautiful game’.

Savio Medeira said, “”Grassroots are the building blocks of a footballing system and the AIFF has increased its efforts ten-folds in the recent years to promote grassroots football”

“The AFC Grassroots Day serves as a good platform to spread awareness about grassroots football and its benefits – one being the increase of the base of the player pyramid structure”, he added.

The AIFF in association with its member associations will be conducting festivals of football across the nation on May 15, 2019 to celebrate the AFC Grassroots Football Day.
