Amazon Germany has announced a free-to-air live radio service which comes just in time for the kick-off of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) and the 2019/20 Bundesliga season. The free audio live streaming will be available for all registered Amazon customers.

The live streaming package will include matches of the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, DFB-Pokal and all UEFA Champions League matches involving German teams.

The new service will premier this weekend, August 9 to 12, as 64 teams take the field for their DFB-Pokal Round 1 fixtures.

Amazon has enhanced the voice commands for Echo and Alex compatible devices to simplify the access to live football content. The new voice commands includes phrases such as “Alexa, öffne Live-Fußball” (“Alexa, open live football”), “Alexa, spiel Bayern gegen Dortmund” (“Alexa, play Bayern versus Dortmund”), amongst many others.

Amazon’s extensive live streaming service will compose of live audio streaming of the full match, pre- and post-match reports and a half-time analysis, while an additional conference switching streaming will be provided if two or more matches take place simultaneously. The streaming content will be available on demand 15 minutes after the full time whistle is blown.

The weekly Bundesliga show “Lage der Liga” will provide further news, interviews and editorial content.
