Bengaluru FC players Suresh Wangjam, Rahul Bheke, Harmanjot Khabra and Dimas Delgado and head coach Carles Cuadrat met the children from the ‘viral free-kick video’ at their team hotel in Kochi on Sunday, February 16.

Aadhil, Pratyush, Lukhmanul and Aslah shot to fame when their clip of a free-kick routine at the GLPS School in Poolappadam, Malappuram, went viral on social media. The clip had over six million views on Instagram alone and was appreciated by Lothar Matthaus and Xherdan Shaqiri, among others.

“I find it hard to believe that the players from Bengaluru FC said that they wanted to meet these children, because it is usually the other way around. I’m very glad that they got this opportunity because it motivates them to keep playing,” said Sreeju, the school’s Physical Education teacher.

The children also met and spent time speaking with Blues’ winger Ashique Kuruniyan, who hails from Malappuram.
