Borussia Dortmund and goalkeeper Roman Bürki have reached an agreement on a contract extension. Bürki’s original contract runs until the end of the 2020-21 season, but both sides have signed an extension which will bind the Swiss star to the Bundesliga club until June 30, 2023.

“We are delighted that Roman Bürki, one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Bundesliga, will continue to stand between the sticks,” said Borussia Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc in a club press release.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper had joined BVB in summer 2015 from league rivals SC Freiburg. He has represented Borussia Dortmund in 206 competitive matches to date, while securing 75 clean sheets. “I feel comfortable at Borussia Dortmund and the officials, coaches and teammates have trust in me,” said Bürki.
