TRAU FC sign defender Shouvik Ghosh from NorthEast United FC

I-League side TRAU FC have announced the signing of left-back Shouvik Ghosh from NorthEast United FC for the 2020/21 season.

27 year old Uttarpara-born Shouvik Ghosh was a regular with the India U-19s before being signed by the Pailan Arrows (Indian Arrows) in 2010. After three years with the AIFF Developmental side, Shouvik Ghosh signed for Mohun Bagan AC. He stayed with the Mariners for three season, spending ISL – Season 1 on loan with the Delhi Dynamos.

In 2016, Shouvik Ghosh moved to NorthEast United FC and played ISL – Season 3 for them before moving back on loan to Mohun Bagan for the 2017 I-League.

Jamshedpur FC signed Shouvik Ghosh from the 2017 ISL draft and he made 10 appearances for the Steelmen before shifting to Mumbai City FC for ISL – Season 5, but he only made three appearances for the Islanders.

Shouvik Ghosh returned to NorthEast United FC for a second stint in January 2019, but only played one match for the Highlanders in the remainder of the 2018/19 before making five appearances in the 2019/20 season.

Shouvik Ghosh said, “It’s indeed a great pleasure for me to join TRAU FC. I like the family of TRAU FC especially the fans and the officials to keep supporting us.”

“I will also try my best to make TRAU FC the next I-League champion,” added Shouvik Ghosh, who stays in the Northeast with his move to TRAU FC.
