The results of this year’s “The Best FIFA Football Awards” have been announced. For the second time in a row, the award for Best Men’s Player has gone to a player from the Bundesliga. The DFL congratulates FC Bayern München striker Robert Lewandowski (“The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2021”) on his award.

Statement by Donata Hopfen, Speaker of the Executive Committee of the DFL and DFL CEO:

“Robert Lewandowski is one of the greatest strikers in the history of German professional football – and a phenomenal ambassador for the Bundesliga. He has been thrilling fans around the world with his performances for years – and is getting better all the time. He provided an extraordinary demonstration of this last season, when he surpassed even Gerd Müller’s record of 40 goals in one season. He has now defended his title as The Best FIFA Men’s Player, so this prestigious award has gone to the Bundesliga once again. I am highly delighted with this well-deserved result. Congratulations!”
