Inder Singh to kick off 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League

The Punjab Football Association (PFA) under the dynamic leadership of its President Samir Thapar, is all set to present this year’s Punjab State Super Football League in the better and bigger way which will really stand-out in top football leagues.

JCT Limited has to play a pivotal role in establishing this league as ‘key sponsor’ whereas Star Impact & Savi International have also joined hands as ‘co-sponsors’ to support PFA in this juncture. As per PFA’s pre-announcements of handsome prizes, the league winner will be awarded Rs. 4.40 lac, the runners-up Rs. 3.30 lac, the 3rd Place Team Rs. 2.20 lac and the 4th Place Team Rs. 1.54 lac. Rs. 22,000/-, Rs. 15,000/-, Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 7,000/- will be handed over to each of the 22 squad members of the Winners, Runners-up, 3rd Placed Team and 4th Placed Team respectively.

According to a change in format, this year’s Punjab Super Football League would be held in multi-cities & rural areas of Punjab with a total of 56 matches scheduled to be held in a double leg league basis, out of which major part of the league will see eight top gunners (BSF, RCF, Punjab Police, JCT Academy, CRPF, PSPCL, United Punjab FC and Dalbir FA) play 24 matches in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar – some of which will be arranged under floodlights. Besides this, each club has been assigned two home matches to be held in their home-towns, whereas in order to expand the league to rural level in the entire State of Punjab, some areas where grassroots football projects are also going on, have been chosen to host Super League matches for nurturing football in rural and grassroots areas of Punjab.

As the league kicks of on August 25 at 16.00 IST at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar, legend Inder Singh – Arjuna Awardee and former Indian national team captain – will grace the occasion with his benign presence and kick-off the league whereas Priya Thapar, Director (HR), JCT Limited will unfurl the flag of Punjab Football Association and will distribute footballs to the kids.
