Ola, India’s most popular personal transportation app, is expected to take the football fever to a new high this season with the Indian Super League (ISL). The company announced that it is the ‘Official Cab Partner’ of four teams playing in the ISL namely, Mumbai City FC, FC Pune City, Delhi Dynamos FC and Atlético de Kolkata. The company also announced that it will give away free VIP/VVIP/hospitality passes for the games of these four teams on select days to Ola customers, straight from their app.

Sudarshan Gangrade, Vice President – Marketing at Ola, said, “Football is catching up as a major sport in the country with the formation of popular leagues like the ISL. The young and fast growing Ola user base has a large number of sporting enthusiasts and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with them. With this partnership, Ola users not only gain instant access to their favourite ISL matches, but also to convenient and hassle-free mobility options to reach the venue – all from the Ola app.”

Prashant Agarwal, President, Delhi Dynamos FC, siad, “We are delighted to partner with Ola. Parking and traffic hassles can be significantly minimized with fans now being able to use Ola for reaching the match venues. We make any effort to bring our family together. That’s what our fans means to us.”

“Ola’s partnership will go a long way in helping us reach out to millions of fans across the country as well as solve the mobility issue for everyone coming to see the matches,” Subrata Talukdar, Secretary, Atlético de Kolkata told.

“Our stadium is located at quite a distance from the city and a partnership with Ola will help us and our fans a great deal in reaching the stadium comfortably on match days,” Indranil Das Blah, CEO, Mumbai City FC stated.

Gaurav Modwel, CEO, FC Pune City, said, “We are overjoyed to have Ola on board as our Official Cab Partner for this season.”

The ‘Matchday’ icon on the Ola app appears between 2pm and 4pm. Customers simply need to tap on the icon (just like they do to book a cab) and get free tickets delivered to them so that they can cheer for their favorite teams on the match day. Once the booking is done, an Ola cab will deliver two tickets at the user’s doorstep.

Ola customers also stand a chance to win VVIP tickets and meet their favourite ISL player by participating in the contests on Twitter and tweeting #accesstomatchday to @Olacabs.
