India move up to 57th in FIFA Women’s World Rankings

Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the second rankings of 2019, India moved up six spots to be in 57th position behind Panama and ahead of Venezuela.

India have 1422 points, 30 more than last month and they gain a spot to be in 11th position in the Asian (AFC) Women’s rankings.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Nepal (101st), Bangladesh (130th), Sri Lanka (136th), the Maldives (139th), and Bhutan (154th) with Pakistan currently unranked.

There were changes in the top 5. The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup winners United States (2,180 pts) retain top spot ahead of Germany (2,059 pts); while the Netherlands (2.037 pts) gained five spots, France (2,029 pts) stay fourth and England (2,027 pts) dropped the two spots to complete the top five.
